SUBJECT:    REQUEST FOR AUXILIARY POLICE PERSONNEL TO ASSIST IN THE
                       ANNUAL PBMN HARMONY DAY PICNIC, TUESDAY, AUGUST 12

       1.             On Tuesday, August 12, 2008, the Patrol Borough Manhattan North has 
scheduled their Annual Harmony Day Picnic for children who participate in summer  
youth programs within Manhattan North.  Approximately 5,000 children ranging in ages
from 6 through 15 attend this event annually.  The picnic begins at 0900 hours and
concludes at 1400 hours.  The purpose of this event is to enhance the relationship
between the New York City Police Department and the children of northern Manhattan.

       2.             Due to the nature of the event and the large number of estimated
attendees, a request was made by the Commanding Officer, PBMN for additional
Auxiliary Police personnel
from commands and units citywide.  Members who wish to

participate will report to the Incident Command Post as follows:

     Transverse bet. CP East and West Drives

Community Affairs Unit at (212) 678-1867/49.

       4.             Auxiliary Police Coordinators and Auxiliary Police Commanding Officers 
will apprise members of their units of the contents of this bulletin and encourage active
participation.
