SUBJECT:     STREET RENAMING CEREMONY FOR AUXILIARY POLICE OFFICERS 
                         MARSHALIK AND PEKEARO ON MARCH 14, 2009

         1.            The City Council and the Mayor's Office have approved the renaming of the corner of
Bleeker and Sullivan Streets, in the s" Precinct, Manhattan, to Auxiliary Officer Pekearo Corner
and Auxiliary Officer Marshalik Corner. A ceremony commemorating the renaming will be held on
the second anniversary of their shooting, and members of the Auxiliary Police Program are invited to
join the Mayor, Police Commissioner, executive staff of the NYPD and elected officials in
participating.

         2.            Members who wish to participate will report as follows:

REPORT TIME:    1000 hours
FORMATION AREA: Hudson Street at Charles Street (V/O 6th Pct)
UNIFORM:


 
Authorized outer garment will be Summer Blouse, Duty Jacket
or Multi-seasonal waist length jacket. Regulation hat, trousers,
long sleeve shirt, and tie. Summer blouse and white gloves are
optional. No 'V" neck sweaters, turtle necks, cargo pants,
equipment belts or bike uniforms.

         3.            Uniform inspection will be conducted at the report site. Any member who is not properly
attired will not be allowed to participate. The ceremony is expected to begin by 1100, and end at
1200. Due to parking constraints, carpooling and mass transit use is strongly encouraged.

         4.            Auxiliary Police Coordinators and Auxiliary Police Commanding Officers will apprise
members of their units of the contents of this bulletin and encourage active participation.
